I would assume most of you have at some point, while playing on our server, come to realize there is no admin or moderator around and the server is full of pesky asshats ruining the game for you and your fellow players.

As this clan's community manager I am happy to announce that today we are introducing a new and faster way to get in touch with a server admin or moderator. This also allows you to stay in touch with us and our players, both on the server and outside. We are introducing our Discord server to our whole community.


You might be thinking, what the hell is Discord? Well, Discord is an all-in-one app for gamers.

The Discord app is a fairly newly developed software by gamers for gamers to unite them in one single app. This software works as a VoIP program as well as chat room, pretty much like Skype,Teamspeak or Ventrilo, but both the computer and mobile apps are free of charge. We can also add IRC to the programs this one includes. There is also a web option of this app if you are not interested in downloading the desktop client. The app works on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, with Linux in development.

Do I need a user account?
For you to be able to use our Discord channel, you need to have a Discord user account with a verified e-mail. This is to eliminate the ghost (unused) accounts in the user list. Creating an account is painless.

When your account is set up you can join the DrunkNoobs chat room by
- clicking the circle with a + in it on the left hand side
- click the Join a Server button
- paste the invitation link found on top of the topic in to the box, or just click it.

Then click Join and you should connect to the server.

Discord also offers you a variety of features. Such as:
- Game overlay for voice chat
- Pm feature
- Friends list
- @name to force a notification to a specific online user
- Message history; get up to date with the latest conversation, if you have been away.
- Share images or videos with drag-and-drop, or by pasting links or uploading them from your computer/phone
- Bans from the server are by account and ip



Keep in mind:
We are NOT eliminating the use of skype or teamspeak. We are just offering a faster way of getting in touch with an admin or moderator when there is no one available on the server or the forums.

- A feeds channel has been added to our Discord server. It is gathering rss data from our forum (so new posts are displayed over there with introtext) as well as news from the official urbanterror.info site.

We continue to improve our Discord Server.

- Members can now call the attention of leaders, head admins, server admins and server mods all at once with the command "~alertmods" (without quotation marks). Thanks to Omega for making me add BooBot for this feature.


- You can also alert all leaders, head admins, server admins and server mods by using the @role-mention feature, that has been added to Discord, individually. (for example @Leaders to grab the attention of the leaders who are online)
